My Bio!
The 2022-2023 school year will be my fourth year at P.S. 49, and I could not be more excited, honored, and blessed. I graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Education and a master’s degree in Literacy Education. Last year I obtained another master’s degree from Fordham University. I enjoy reading, and I love to write. While I am not in school, you can find me in Panera Bread, Starbucks, at the gym, collecting baseball cards, hiking, or kayaking!
I believe in self-confidence and having a growth mindset. My personal goal is to help create or add to your child’s growth mindset. I also charge my students to get “1%” better daily. Daily I have my students begin their day by self-reflecting on their previous school day. I then ask our students to find one actionable goal they can achieve that will allow them to get “1%” better! With 180 days in a school year, imagine what we can achieve if our students leave the 2021-2022 school year 180% better! Additionally, a strong classroom community is a must. Daily my students cite their “I Anthem,” pledging that they are somebody and that when they leave, they will be a better somebody at the end of the day.
